      Bon Vital' Runner's Massage

      Frozen Winter Wonderland Relief Bon Vital' Protocol 

      TREATMENT GUIDE

      1. Begin with client in a prone position.
      2. Add Bon Vital’® Muscle Therapy Massage Oil to your hands. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes from the ankle to the knee. Repeat three times.
      3. Apply stripping strokes from the ankle through the muscles of the lower leg to the knee, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds.
      4. Apply effleurage and back of hand to the bottom of the foot. Repeat three times.
      5. Apply stripping strokes from the ball of the foot to the heel, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      6. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes to the thigh from the knee to the hip. Repeat three times.
      7. Apply stripping strokes to the hamstrings from the knee to the hip, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      8. Apply compression strokes to the hip between the iliac crest, sacrum and the greater trochanter.
      9. Apply direct pressure to the hip muscles between the iliac crest, sacrum and the greater trochanter, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      10. Apply compression between the greater trochanter and the sacrum with the knee flexed to 90 degrees while rocking hip in internal and external rotation.
      11. Move client to side lying position with bottom leg straight and top leg knee at 90 degrees. Bolster under top leg for support.
      12. Apply Bon Vital’ Muscle Therapy Oil to your hands. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes from the ankle to the knee on the lateral lower leg of top leg. Repeat three times.
      13. Apply stripping strokes to the lateral lower legs from ankle to knee, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      14. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes from the knee to the hip on the lateral thigh of the top thigh. Repeat three times.
      15. Apply stripping strokes to the lateral thigh from knee to the hip, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      16. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes from the ankle to the knee on the medial lower leg of bottom leg. Repeat three times.
      17. Apply stripping strokes to the medial lower legs from ankle to knee, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      18. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes from the knee to the hip on the medial thigh of the bottom thigh. Repeat three times.
      19. Apply stripping strokes to the medial thigh from knee to the hip, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      20. Turn runner to the opposite side and repeat these sequences of strokes on the opposite leg.
      21. Move client to supine position.
      22. Apply Bon Vital’ Muscle Therapy Oil to your hands. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes from the ankle to the knee on the anterior lower leg. Repeat three times.
      23. Apply stripping strokes to the anterior lower leg from ankle to knee, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      24. Apply effleurage, petrissage, compression and broadening strokes from the knee to the hip on the anterior thigh. Repeat three times.
      25. Apply stripping strokes to the anterior thigh from knee to the hip, stopping over tender spots and holding for 8-12 seconds. Repeat three times.
      26. After completing the massage strokes move the leg through range of motion. Ankle - dorsi flex, plantar flex, invert and evert. Knee - flex to chest. Bring knee to 90 degrees and perform internal and external rotation. With knee flexed to 90 degrees, perform bent knee hamstring stretch followed by straight leg hamstring stretch.
      27. Repeat same sequence on opposite leg.
      28. Finish by applying Biofreeze® Professional Roll-On to any localized area of tenderness.*
