Hot Massage Shells

Just imagine combining the exfoliation of a salt glow and the heat of a stone massage with the beauty of the sea. These beautiful shells are filled with cement and sealed to maximize heat retention and then smoothed and coated with 3 coats of commercial-grade resin to provide a mildly exfoliating treatment. 

Heat them in a water bath in your stone roaster and then place them strategically on the patient to begin a warm transfer of heat. Add your favorite cream, lotion or oil and alternate massaging your client with your hands together with the shells as a massage tool.  Each shell will retain heat for up to 20 minutes.

These all natural shells of varied colors and sizes deliver deep therapeutic sensations of comfort and warmth. This kit contains approximately 30 beautiful shells, enough for a 60 minute massage, and an instruction book.

 General Guidelines for doing Shell Massage:
• Only use a heating unit that is able to maintain temperature of 120° - 140°
• Place a towel in the bottom of your roaster to protect the shells, your roaster and minimize noise. 
• Fill the heating unit with water so shells are completely covered
• Shells will reach an ideal massage temperature after 15-20 minutes
• Gently shake off excess water from the shells prior to putting them on the client.  This helps them accept your massage lubricant.
• A thermometer should always be used to determine the temperature of the shells:  Remember if they are too hot for you to handle, they are too hot to place on your client. 
• Have a small dish of ice water available next to the heater in case the shells are too hot.  You can also place a towel or small sheet between the shell and client to reduce heat transfer. 
• Clean shells between sessions and at the end of each day
Cleaning Instructions

During the Day:
• The shells need to be cleaned between each sessions.
• Wash them with warm water and an antibacterial soap. 
• Rinse with clean water after you clean them.  A small amount of sea salt can be added to the rinse water to help restore and balance the energy.
• Rub with an alcohol solution to sanitize and allow them air dry. 

End of Each Day:
• Turn off the heating unit
• Remove the shells and drain the roasting pan
• Wash the shells with warm water and an antibacterial soap. 
• Rinse with clean water after you clean them.  A small amount of sea salt can be added to the rinse water to help restore and balance the energy.
• Rub with an alcohol solution to sanitize and allow them air dry. 
• Wash the basin with warm water and soap
• Rinse and allow to air dry
• When completely dry return the roasting pan to the roaster
