The frequency is rated in megahertz. Maximum output for this unit is 1 megahertz because any stronger through the edge of the scrapper (spatula) would cause severe blistering if held stationary for a fraction of a second. The hand piece vibrates at more than 50,000 times per second. It is recommended that the esthetician does not operate the machine at maximum output. Maximum output will not necessarily provide a better exfoliation. To keep the blade from overheating a fan has been incorporated into the hand piece. To minimize the risk of burning or irritating the skin, do not sure more than 3/4 of the maximum output.
