Short Lifespan But Still A Great Tool

Digital Full Back Warmer- Heavy Version

Pros: Excellent weight. Deep Heat Penetration. Perfect Size for Full Back - even fits tall clients. Cons: A Very Short Lifespan. (I have had to repurchase THREE times so far!) The problem is that the electrical cord, as it enters and exits the control panel, is flimsy so, it becomes twisted or damaged as time goes on. Eventually, the wiring inside the controller shorts out. (It has happened on all three Digital Full Back Warmer-Heavy Versions that I have bought.)

Digital Full Back Warmer- Heavy Version

I have two of these back warmers and have had them for over ten years! I alternate one when it is laundry day. The weight is perfect on the client. I usually keep the temp at 118 degrees so the client doesn't overheat; I have a table warmer too. I saw comments about it not fitting on other body parts - it is a back warmer and not really designed for other body parts. If a client wants it on the lower body, I put it there and the client understands it won't "fit" exactly to that part as it is, after all, a back warmer. I also use it for my chair clients - I warm up the chair before the massage, I put it on the clients' back keep it there while I begin the back massage, remove it for deeper massage, and put it back on the back if I work on the arms and hands.

Short lifespan...

Digital Full Back Warmer- Heavy Version

I work in an office with 3 other LMT's. Over the past two years, we tried this heating pad as well as the Thermacure moist heating pad, which seem to be identical in the control mechanism, malfunction and short lifespan. We wanted the option to control the temperature and have a safety shut off control. Unfortunately, the temp doesn't seem to go much past 155 degrees without wanting to shut off before an hour session is over. The weight and size are great, but we will not order again because of the lack of performance and eventually completely not working before a years time. We use our heating pads 3-6 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. We will go back to the original Thermophore.

The pad is too bulky and awkward to use, specially if I need to use it on a client's different body part. The pad does not warm up as nicely as the one I used prior to this one, and it takes much longer to reach a desirable temperature.

Q: Sounds great but I don't see anything in the description saying if this is moist heat. I assume it is but just surprised it is not advertised as moist heat. Planning on ordering one as soon as I know for sure. Thank You in advance!!
