Portable with some design flaws

NRG Grasshopper Massage Chair

I like this chair but my biggest complaint is that the face cradle height and chest protector height are both adjusted by one knob. So when you loosen the knob, both of them slide down. You have to hold one while you adjust the other. They often both slide down at the same time and you have to start over.

The Best I've EVER used!

NRG Grasshopper Massage Chair

I've been using this chair for 4+ years and have had absolutely no problems with it. No break-downs in vinyl, screw works like it should, easy to adjust and lock face rest, etc... Very easy and quick to set up (1 minute is my record) and take down is even easier. I've had clients for all shapes and sizes on my chair and it has adjusted perfectly to each and every one of them. The only downside to this chair is you can't use it for pregnant clients because of the center bar, but in reality, therapists shouldn't be working on prenatal clients that are 6+ months in a massage chair anyway, bad for circulation. I've had the unfortunate pleasure of using earthlites and oakworks chairs and all I can say is CONFUSING, they take too long to set up and take down, the vinyl is cheap and the pads break-down. All in all, I stick with NRG for all my equipment for personal and business use.

Love my chair

NRG Grasshopper Massage Chair

I was just reading the reviews on this chair and I can't disagree more. I have had this chair for about 5 years now. I am 5' 7" and have had no problem with my height or adjusting it to fit any height client. This chair has a wide variety of adjustments (the seat, the armrest, the chest pad and the face cradle) so that I have always been able to fit it to a client. I don't use it on a daily basis but have done many employee appreciations, health fairs, demos or just lunch break massages with this chair. It is so easy to fold and go with. I have no complaints about it at all and have had no problems with the workmanship of it.

Buyer Beware - But Not Totally Afraid

NRG Grasshopper Massage Chair

So, I read the mixed reviews here and elsewhere, and got the chair as part of the "BusinessStarter" package. If you're a 5'4 - 5'7 massage therapist, this won't be a problem, but it's almost impossible for a 6' male therapist to use this chair with proper body alignment. It's also a bit short for most men. Haven't had the issues with the stripped screws or bad velcro, but I can sure see it happening in the future. That being said for personal use, or for limited use (occasional onsite chair work) it's not bad. But I'd spend the money elsewhere if you plan on making regular use of it.
