FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I use a Tri-Core pillow?
The unique design of Core Product’s best-selling Tri-Core Cervical Pillow is the answer to multiple conditions affecting the head and neck. The experts at Core Products advise that most people experience increased sleeping comfort within a couple of days of using the Tri-Core pillow; although others may need as much as two weeks to acclimate.
For Back Sleepers: Use the incorporated neck support roll at the top or bottom of the pillow and the shaped center to cradle the head. The firm neck supports are different sizes to accommodate most body types with the maximum therapeutic benefits. The smaller cervical roll is perfect in the adjustment phase or for those who prefer less support than the larger cervical roll offers.
For Side Sleepers: The raised side panels help to keep the spine in proper alignment for comfortable positioning.
Please be patient when starting out with the Tri-Core pillow as becoming accustomed to any cervical support pillow takes time and can actually cause increased neck pain. For lighter support, try the Tri-Core Gentle Firmness Pillow.
When should I use hot packs vs. cold packs?
The age old question...when should I apply heat and ice to a muscle or joint strain, sprain or any other injury? Application of heat packs are appropriate after an injury only once the initial healing process has begun. Never apply heat to a new muscle strain, joint sprain, bone break or any other injury. Most commonly heat is applied to loosen muscles or joints before physical therapy or rehabilitative exercise.
Cold packs are most often associated with the first line of treatment to most injuries. Rapidly reducing the temperature of the affected area reduces swelling and allows bodily fluids and blood to reach the injury and begin the healing process.
Apply Heat to:
- Increase blood circulation to the affected area; promotes healing.
- Reduce muscle and joint stiffness, constriction, spasms, or pain.
- AFTER the first 48 hours following an injury.
Apply Cold to:
- Reduce swelling and inflammation;
- Relieve pain;
- Reduce or stop bleeding.
What is cervical orthosis?
Traditionally, a cervical orthosis is a neck brace or collar that is used in instances of neck or spinal injuries like whiplash and lordosis. The Apex Cervical Orthosis by Core Products is an effective and innovative tool to restore proper alignment and posture when used daily under a healthcare provider’s supervision. Its wedge-shaped design and adjustable height help to alleviate headaches and neck pain, restore the natural curve of the neck, and promote recovery from acute cervical injury or conditions like tech neck and military neck.
Where are Core Products manufactured?
Core Products, a best-in-class orthopedic healthcare products manufacturer, is headquartered in the great state of Wisconsin in the quintessential midwestern town of Osceola. They have two manufacturing locations - one in Toronto, Ontario and the other in Chetek, Wisconsin.
How do you use a cervical roll pillow?
If you are experiencing neck, shoulder, upper back pain or chronic headaches, a cervical support roll may be a perfect solution. Cervical rolls can be used independently or in conjunction with your sleeping pillow. All-in-one cervical roll pillows are also available with various levels of sophistication from those with a basic design to advanced features like the Therapeutica Foam Support Pillow.
Cervical Roll:
To use a cervical roll for a good night’s rest, simply place it in your pillowcase with your personal pillow. Make sure the roll is at the lower end of the pillowcase so you can use it to align your spine and support your neck. Your personal pillow will be behind the roll to cradle your head.
Cervical Roll Pillows:
These pillows have built-in neck support at minimum. Some, like the Tri-Core Fiber Pillow, also have side sleeping features and two rolls, one at the top and one at the bottom, with different levels of firmness. Simply choose which support type gives you the best level of comfort.
Please note: Getting used to any cervical support pillow will require an adjustment period of up to two weeks and may actually increase neck stiffness in the initial stages.
