FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What causes cracked heels?
According to experts in podiatry, cracked heels are a common condition that occurs when the skin around the heel becomes dry and thick, and increased pressure on the fat pad under the heel causes the skin to split.* Common contributing factors to the accumulation of dry skin include wearing open-heel shoes and untreated cold, dry skin. Winter weather with cold temperatures and low humidity can also play a role in overly dry skin. Consistent exfoliation with a body scrub like Amber Salt Glow Body Exfoliating Scrub and/or foot file and regularly moisturizing with a deep penetrating moisturizer like Foot Miracle® Therapeutic Heel & Foot Repair Cream can alleviate the buildup of dry skin that causes painful, unsightly cracked skin.

What is a body scrub treatment?
Body scrub treatments, similar to facial treatments, slough away dry, dead skin leaving behind a refreshed feel and vibrant appearance. The act of exfoliating promotes collagen production which improves the skin’s elasticity and youthful appearance. The treatment typically consists of three steps.
The aesthetician will apply a quality exfoliant like Amber Sugar Scrub Body Exfoliator or a body polish like BIOTONE® Micro-Buff Body® Polish one section of the body at a time, usually beginning with the back.
The client will thoroughly rinse away the exfoliant using a vichy shower or whichever spa shower is available. Experts suggest only using water to rinse as soaps or shower gels will also remove the moisturizing oils from the exfoliant. It is important that all granules from the exfoliant are washed away to ensure a comfortable final step.
After drying off, the client will return to the treatment table for a final application of a quality moisturizer like Lotus Touch Organic Massage Lotion.
What do collagen eye masks do?
When headaches, allergies, late nights or fatigue cause your eyes to look tired, quality collagen eye pads like EYES by ToGoSpa™ moisturize, plump and add nutrients to the delicate under-eye zone, creating a more relaxed and refreshed appearance. The experts at ToGoSpa claim that with just one 20-minute application, you will see improved elasticity, texture and overall appearance of the skin below the eye.
What is a lip mask?
Quality lip masks, like LIPS collagen gel masks are micro-infused with a combination of ingredients including hyaluronic acid, natural high-density marine collagen, enzymes, amino acids, natural marine minerals, trace elements, proteins and vitamins C & E. Lip masks can lead to improved elasticity, texture and overall appearance of the lips and work to decrease the appearance of fine lines around the mouth.
How often should you exfoliate your body?
The frequency of exfoliation is dependent on your skin type. Those with dry skin may benefit from using a quality exfoliant two or three times per week. If you have more sensitive skin, experts recommend weekly or exfoliation at most and consideration of a gentler exfoliant like Pharmagel® Enzyme Ex-Cell® Gentle Exfoliating Scrub. To maintain the effects of exfoliation for longer periods of time, use a body lotion, oil or cream on a daily basis.
