FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does hair have to be to wax?
For hair removal wax to work as intended, it must be able to fully grasp the hair to be removed. Ideally your hair should be about ¼” in length for the best waxing experience; however, hard wax products and waxing kits may be effective for shorter hair. Because hard wax will completely surround the hair and harden without the need for removal strips, even shorter hairs can be removed, follicle and all. Experts recommend waiting 2 to 3 weeks between hair removal treatments to ensure the most success.
Does waxing reduce hair growth?
A consistent waxing routine may lead to finer and slower regrowth in some cases. Individual growth rate can vary from person to person and body part to body part based on a number of factors including genetics, hormones and diet.
Can I heat hair removal wax in a microwave?
The short answer is ‘yes,’ however most manufacturers recommend melting and warming wax in a wax heater. Wax heaters and warmers accommodate a variety of different waxing products such as the Resiné by HAIRAWAY® Wax Warmer designed specifically for hard wax beads or the Cirépil® Happy Heater made to hold 14 oz. wax tins.
While using a microwave is possible, please take caution as they may heat waxing products unevenly leaving some of the wax too hot to touch and other parts cold. If no other option is available, please consult your product's instructions for heating recommendations.
